FAQs
Providing quality care is our top priority. Here are some frequently asked questions about Move Well Physical Therapy.
-
What is concierge/mobile physical therapy?Concierge or mobile physical therapy is personalized care in the comfort of your own home. It is designed to be convenient for you when life is busy and you cannot imagine having one more appointment or one more place to go. Traditionally physical therapy is offered in a clinic setting, which might include needing to find childcare for your kids multiple times per week or scheduling before/after work when a clinic is trying to see everyone else at that same time. Instead, it can be easier! You can have physical therapy in your house, at a time that works for you. This is the benefit that concierge physical therapy can bring to your life. One-on-one sessions with hands-on treatment from an expert in the field in your own house.

Who can benefit from concierge/mobile physical therapy?Anyone who feels like life is busy and it is difficult to have yet one more thing scheduled or those who have experienced the hustle and bustle of a busy physical therapy clinic and want focused attention. Personally, I know one of the biggest barriers to me scheduling appointments is finding childcare and working around the busy schedule of a family. Concierge physical therapy allows excellent physical therapy to happen at the convenient time and location for you. It also allows for physical therapy treatment tailored to your needs. For example, if you are being treated for ankle pain, but one day your hip is hurting, we can adjust and change without constraints that can occur in a traditional clinic. I love treating active individuals or those who have previously struggled to improve under the care of another healthcare professional. Sometimes the most "difficult" cases have been my most rewarding.
-
Do I need to have exercise equipment for you to come to my house? No! I travel with a treatment table and bring all equipment that is needed. You can rest assured that all will be provided for you. The goal of concierge physical therapy is to bring ease and simplicity to your life!
-
Do I need a referral from my physician? You do not need a referral from you physician to be seen for physical therapy. If there is concern for a fracture or other injury that has not been evaluated by a physician and needs to be, you will be referred before treatment is provided.
-
Do you accept insurance?Quick answer: No. Move Well Physical Therapy is a cash-based provider. We do this to practice without the constraints of insurance. It allows us to provide one-on-one treatment session and give you the time and attention necessary to feel better. Longer answer: You can request a "Superbill" and submit it to your insurance provider as an Out of Network provider. Depending on your plan, you may receive some reimbursement at a certain percentage. Prior to your first visit, you can call your insurance company to determine if they allow/what the reimbursement is for an out-of-network provider.
-
Can I pay with an FSA/HSA card?Yes! Physical therapy is considered a health service so it is therefore eligible to use an HSA or FSA card.
-
What if I can't afford your services, but I need physical therapy?I became a physical therapist to help everyone, not just those who can afford it. Everyone should have access to excellent physical therapy. If you are unable to afford my rate, please contact me for a sliding scale fee. You may have to submit proof of income if you would like to pursue this option.

I'm a mom with young kids, do I need a babysitter or to schedule at a time they aren't around? You are one of my main inspirations for starting a private practice that offers therapy sessions in a client's house! You are welcome to continue being "mom" even during therapy sessions. I am a mom of young kids and understand the interruptions. The goal is that they will feel more comfortable being in their space and routine, even if I am there working with you!
